A London derby awaits Holloway and Co to kick-start the new campaign.
Crystal Palace make their long-awaited return to the Barclays Premier League next season, however, the fixture list has not been kind to Ian Holloway’s men as they begin life back in the top flight with a tough-looking trip across London to take on Tottenham Hotspur.
It has been eight long years since the South London club were last competing in the top flight, when they suffered the agony of relegation on the final day of that campaign under previous head coach Ian Dowie.
And it has taken the club almost the best part of a decade to return to the Premier League, during which time Palace also had to suffer the pain of being put into administration two years ago.
However all of that will be forgotten on Saturday Aug 17 when Holloway takes his side, who came up via the playoffs after beating Watford in the Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium back in May, across the capital for a London derby at the home of Uefa Champions League-chasing Tottenham.
Now it does not get any harder that that and to read the rest of Palace’s 2013-14 Premier League fixtures in full, click here.
