The Dallas Cowboys made a statement with a 42-7 win at home against the Indianapolis Colts, and quarterback Tony Romo had one of the best games of his career with four touchdown passes.
The quarterback went on to endorse head coach Jason Garrett, who had been maligned by many Cowboys fans before this season.
“Jason is the best head coach in the league no one talks about. I mean, he’s really gifted at his ability to communicate to his players,” Romo said to the Dallas Morning News.
Garrett entered the 2014 season on the hot seat, and the Cowboys were expected to miss the playoffs by most fans and experts.
However, the Cowboys have responded to their critics by proving them wrong and storming out to an 11-4 record with an NFC East title, marking their first division title since 2009.
Owner Jerry Jones is expected to give Garrett a contract extension, and the Cowboys head coach may come away with Coach of the Year honors at the end of the season.
