Inside linebacker Rolando McClain is still a free agent, so the door is still open for the Cowboys to re-sign him.
Gachkar does not have very much starting experience as he has started just five games in his career, but he set a career high in tackles with 49 in 2014.
He also contributed significantly on special teams and is expected to continue to do so in Dallas, but the Cowboys will need to keep rebuilding their defense through the draft.
Their defense showed improvement from their historically bad 2013 season though.
