Cowboys QB Tony Romo looked sharp against the Ravens last week – the defense was not.
The Dallas Cowboys travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins in week 3 of the NFL preseason.
While the Dolphins have been working diligently to fix their offense and have had some success in the preseason, the real story will be the Cowboys defense, which has allowed 64 points in just two games.
The Cowboys will have recovered QB Tony Romo for at least the first half of this “dress rehearsal” game, but he may not play much if any of the third quarter as the team tries to keep him healthy. Most likely QB Brandon Weeden, the team’s backup, will see some snaps with the first-team to start the second half as the Cowboys try to make sure they have a solid player to turn to in case Romo gets hurt again.
The Dolphins have been average this preseason. They have averaged 15.0 points scored while allowing 15.0 points scored while going 1-1 in this preseason. The Dolphins will play Ryan Tannehill for the first half and part of the second half and see if RB Knowshon Moreno can make an impact now that he has recovered from his knee injury.
Prediction: Dolphins – The Cowboys defense has allowed two straight teams to walk all over them and the Dolphins with their impressive receiving corps should be no different.
