The veteran star is out of contract at the Nou Camp this summer, and United remain keen on bringing him to the Premier League after keeping a close watch on his situation in recent months.
His agent has now jetted out to meet the United reps, after confirming that Alves would likely be moving on over the summer.
“I interpret that silence to mean they don’t want Dani Alves, so we will begin searching for a new club,” he said.
“We won’t wait for Barcelona, they have to take the plunge.”
