Daniel Sturridge was sorely missed at the end of last season, but now he’s back at Anfield.
A 0-0 draw rightfully has folks at Anfield worried about the offense, but the return of striker Daniel Sturridge should comes as a major boost.
According to The Guardian, Sturridge has returned to training with Liverpool for the first time since April. Though there is no timetable on his return, Sturridge hopes to return to the pitch “sooner rather than later” after missing the entire pre-season.
After scoring 21 goals in the 2013-14 season, Liverpool had high hopes for Daniel Sturridge, but injuries derailed his 2014-15 season and he finished the year with only a handful of starts and four goals. Liverpool’s season ended in a tailspin and not a single member of the club managed to score 10 Premier League goals that year.
During the summer, Liverpool spent £32.5 million to land former Aston Villa superstar Christian Benteke. Pairing Sturridge with Benteke would give the Reds one of the most formidable scoring attacks in the Premier League.
