Reds manager Brendan Rodgers was hoping that Sturridge would be back to full fitness in time for his side’s trip to Manchester United on September 12.
However, The Mirror claim that the former Chelsea starlet’s return to full training has now been postponed.
It is understood that Sturridge could make his long-awaited comeback in the Capital One Cup game against Carlisle United at Anfield on September 23.
