Danny Ings is expected to begin talks with Liverpool this week after turning down a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs reportedly bid £12m in order to have the first opportunity to talk to the striker, who is out of contract at Burnley in July and has passed on the club’s obligatory offer of a new deal.
But Ings has always had a preference for Anfield since deciding that he would leave Turf Moor this summer.

According to the London Evening Standard, he has rejected an offer from Tottenham, who finished above Liverpool in fifth in the Premier League table this season, to pave the way for a move to Merseyside.
Liverpool face having to pay up to £6m at a tribunal to determine Burnley’s compensation for the 22-year-old, who scored 11 goals in his debut top-flight season as Burnley made an immediate return to the Championship.
Ings will apparently announce a decision on his future before departing for England’s European U21 Championships campaign later this month.
