Vukovic had just a year remaining on his current deal and revealed the main reason for re-signing for the club was his desire for a settled environment to start a family with his wife, while the appointment of Alistair Edwards as manager was also significant.
“I’ve signed for another three years after the end of the season, so it’s effectively another four years here,” he told Football Australia.
“I feel that the club is moving in a very exciting direction and one that I want to be a part of.
“With Alistair (Edwards), Gareth (Naven) and Scott (Miller) on board, it’s a really exciting time to be a part of this great club.
“I think I’ve also come to a point in my a career where I needed some security. I’ve just recently got married and we want to start a family, so that was a major factor as well.”
The former Socceroos under-23 custodian later tweeted his thanks to supporters and colleagues alike for their congratulatory messages.
Thank you to everyone for their messages. Very much appreciated! Look forward to a big year with the boys!
