The 26-year-old is heading back to Europe after previously spending four years in Germany.
Adelaide United midfielder Dario Vidosic has left the club to join Swiss Super League side FC Sion for an undisclosed fee.
The Reds revealed on Monday that the 26-year-old had been released from his contract at the Hindmarsh Stadium ahead of the move to Switzerland and his wish for return to Europe has since been granted.
Vidosic previously spent four years in Germany with FC Nurnberg, taking in loan spells at MSV Duisburg and Arminia Bielefeld, prior to joining Adelaide in 2011 and was thanked for his efforts during his two-season stay at the club by General Manager of Football Operations Michael Petrillo.
“Dario has a great opportunity to play in Europe again which is something he was keen to do,” Petrillo told Football Australia.
“After receiving a transfer request from FC Sion I can confirm that both clubs have agreed to terms for Dario’s transfer and at this stage it’s likely he will leave for Switzerland tonight.
“Dario was Adelaide United’s Club Champion last season, he has played some great games for us and we thank him for his contribution to the club over the last two years and wish him well for the future.”
Socceroo Vidosic made 60 appearances in all competitions and scored 15 goals during his time as Adelaide’s marquee player and confirmed in a series of tweets that he was en route to Sion.
