Darren Sharper pleads guilty to rape charges in New Orleans, will serve twenty years in jail
Sharper was recently convicted of raping multiple women, which he did after drugging them in four different states.
His first arrest occurred in January 2014 in California, and he was subsequently charged in Arizona, Nevada and Louisiana.
Sharper pleaded guilty to sexual assault in Arizona while pleading no contest in California and on attempted sexual assault in Las Vegas over the course of a couple of days in March.
Although it has not been officially handed down, Sharper has essentially received a nine-year prison sentence and is expected to plead guilty one last time in Louisiana.
Sharper has experienced a long fall from grace since putting together a Pro Bowl-caliber career with the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints.
He helped lead the Saints to a Super Bowl run in the 2009 season while making five Pro Bowl trips throughout his career. He was also named to six All-Pro teams.
