Wide reciever believes the prospect of playing with young QB was too good to turn down.
After signing with the Indianapolis Colts last week, Heyward-Bey has listed playing with Colts Quarterback Andrew Luck as a big reason as to why he signed with the team.
Bey told Indystar.com that playing with Luck among other players, was something that got him excited about the team.
“You just look at the roster, you’ve got Andrew Luck, in my opinion the best young quarterback out there,” said Heyward-Bey.
“You’ve got a veteran in (wide receiver) Reggie Wayne. You’ve got a former teammate of mine with Samson (Satele) at center; just a lot of pieces and you have some young players making plays out there.
“Just being a part of something like that, I think it could be great.”
While many consider the 26-year old to be a bust, having failed to live up to the hype surrounding the former seventh overall pick, he finally comes to a team that has a stable front office, something he never had at Oakland.
NFL.com’s Ian Rappaport tweeted, just how many coaching changes Bey saw in his four years with Oakland.
Was reading Darrius Heyward-Bey quotes. Why didn’t it work in Oak? “I was there for 4 years. I had 3 coaches, four OC’s, seven starting QBs”

Playing with Luck, and for a team that is well organised both in it’s playing and backroom staff, the wide receiver has a second chance of proving his doubters wrong, with a good chance that he will very much succeed as a prime target for Luck in future years.
