Beckham was speaking to Sky Sports ahead of a UNICEF charity game at Old Trafford, and revealed that he is looking forward to his return to the stadium in which he enjoyed significant moments of his career both for club and country.
However, when discussing the future of the club, he was adamant that he would like to see his former teammate be given the opportunity to become manager after building experience under both Sir Alex Ferguson and Louis van Gaal.
Whether or not the Welshman gets the chance immediately after Van Gaal remains to be seen, but having had a taste of the job on an interim basis the season before last, he will undoubtedly jump at the opportunity to take on the role again.
Giggs spent his entire playing career with the Red Devils, and Beckham believes that an individual who cares about the club so deeply would certainly be the popular choice for supporters.
