After a long contract struggle, Louis van Gaal appears to be ready to let David de Gea make a move.
David de Gea has made it clear that he wants out of Man United and with the transfer window about to close, the Red Devils appear ready to grant him his wish.
According to the Metro, Real Madrid are “on the verge of completing a transfer” for the disgruntled Spanish goalkeeper and could finalize a deal for 24-year-old star as early as today. The Metro reports that the deal is believed to be worth £29 million but does not state if there will be any player swaps involved.
De Gea was the PFA Goalkeeper of the Year during the 2014-15 season as Man United finished fourth on the table. His 10 clean sheets were tied with Burnley’s Tom Heaton for 8th in the league.
The 24-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has made no bones about his desire to get out of Manchester with members of his inner circle already suggesting that a deal has been done.
Meanwhile, Man United have been doing just fine with Sergio Romero as the new starting goalkeeper. The former Sampdoria stopper has three straight clean sheets to start the season.
