It looks like David de Gea is closing to getting his wish to leave Old Trafford.
After keeping him off the squad for the first four weeks of the season, Man United may finally be ready to sell star goalkeeper David de Gea.
According to the Metro, reports in Spain believe that La Liga giants Real Madrid are poised to reveal De Gea as their new signing by Tuesday.
Though Man United vice-chairman Ed Woodward has maintained that nothing less than a world-record goalkeeper fee for goalkeeper will work, AS contend that the La Liga powerhouse are confident they have a deal.
De Gea was the PFA Goalkeeper of the Year during the 2014-15 season as Man United finished fourth on the table. His 10 clean sheets were tied with Burnley’s Tom Heaton for 8th in the league.
The 24-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has made no bones about his desire to get out of Manchester with members of his inner circle already suggesting that a deal has been done.
Meanwhile, Man United have been doing just fine with Sergio Romero as the new starting goalkeeper. The former Sampdoria stopper has three straight clean sheets to start the season.
