Manchester United fans are happy for David De Gea to head to Real Madrid this summer.
An online poll from the Manchester Evening News has revealed that 45% of Red Devils supporters want the 24-year-old to be sold to the La Liga BBVA giants and for a replacement No.1 to be bought, while 32% want the stopper to see out the remaining year of his contract and leave on a free transfer next summer.
The remaining 23% also wish for the Spaniard to swap Old Trafford for the Santiago Bernabeu, but want Louis van Gaal to use new signing Sergio Romero as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
It was reported earlier today that United were set to agree a €35m (£24.6m) fee with Los Blancos for De Gea’s signature – and his return to the Spanish capital could be finalised within the next few days.
Ajax keeper Jasper Cillessen has been linked with succeeding the former Atletico Madrid star at the Theatre of Dreams.
