David de Gea‘s move to Real Madrid is beginning to gather pace, with reports suggesting the Spaniard’s agent will have crunch talks with Manchester United to force the keeper’s exit.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu this summer, but it seemed the move was in jeopardy with the two club’s failing to agree a fee.
According to The Sun, De Gea’s agent Jorge Mendes is in Manchester after helping take Nicolas Otamendi to Manchester City and was due to meet United officials in an attempt to advance negotiations.
A “well-informed” source told The Sun that Real Madrid are extremely confident of completing a deal for the former Atletico Madrid man.
“Things will gather pace now,” the source said.
“Real Madrid are confident a deal will 100 per cent go through before the end of the month.
“De Gea will play for Real Madrid THIS season.
“Real Madrid do not want to cough up £30million for the Spain goalkeeper as he only has one year left on his United deal.”
De Gea was left out of United’s opening three matches this season with Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal believing the Spaniard was not in the right mindset to play following increased speculation.
Argentine international Sergio Romero seems to have become Van Gaal’s new number one and has enjoyed a solid start to his United career.
