Scot has been a bit-part player at Old Trafford for the past two years now.
Incoming Manchester United manager David Moyes has been given a lift with the news that key midfield player Darren Fletcher is set to return in time for the club’s pre season, reports the Daily Telegraph.
Fletcher, 29, has barely featured at all this campaign as the Red Devils have strolled towards a record-breaking 20th top-flight title, and 13th Premier League crown, due to his ongoing battle with ulcerative colitis.
The last game the Scotland international featured in was United’s dramatic come-from-behind 4-3 win against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
However in total, Fletcher has made just four appearances for United in the Premier League so far this season, and only ten in total in all competitions, scoring one goal in the process.
But it now appears as though Fletcher is fully recovered from his chronic bowel condition that has plagued him for the past two seasons and is set to boost Moyes by being available for pre-season training this summer, with a view to being available for the Scot’s debut campaign in charge in the north west.
