Sir Alex Ferguson
Fergie played a crucial part in the appointment of Moyes in 2013 and the club may look to the 72-year-old to dig them out of the trouble they now find themselves in.
In hindsight many are stating that the former boss should not have had so much say in who his successor was, especially when he wanted a coach with no major trophy wins on his CV.
However, rehiring Ferguson would be seen a step backwards by many when the Red Devils really need to be building for the future and striving to rediscover their success of the last 25 years.
