The Scot, who left Old Trafford in April after a poor run of results, insists he had to take chips off the menu at the training ground because a number of players were overweight and needed to improve their diet.
Ferdinand brought the issue up in his autobiography, and Moyes responded to questions about it, saying: “Yes, I did ban chips. It was because a couple of players were overweight and I didn’t think chips were good for their diet.”
