Manchester United confirmed on Saturday afternoon that a deal have been agreed for the signing of legendary German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich.
The 30-year-old, who has been on Bayern’s books since 1998, will join United this summer “subject to a medical and personal terms” according to the club’s official website.
Schweinsteiger will add experience and class to United’s midfield.
The 111-time Germany international has won eight Bundesliga titles, as well as the UEFA Champions League and FIFA World Cup.

Schweinsteiger’s arrival at Old Trafford could be great news for Arsenal.
United and Arsenal had been engaged in a transfer war for the signature of Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.
However, United signing Schweinsteiger will probably cause them to stand down in the battle for Schneiderlin.
