Newport County defender Regan Poole is poised to complete a sensational switch to Manchester United.
The 17-year-old has been given permission to travel to the Carrington training ground for a medical.
He has previously trained with the Red Devils, as well as their fierce North West rivals Liverpool.
The teenager has made 15 appearances for Newport, but is yet to sign a professional contract in Wales.
Hull City and Fulham have both had bids rejected for the Welshman this summer, but the Daily Mail reports that a £400,000 offer from United has been enough to convince Newport to sell.
The Premier League giants are already closing in on the signing of another highly-rated youngster – although AS Monaco striker Anthony Martial, 19, will cost a contrasting £36m.
