After the Jets traded away Darrelle Revis, Alabama cornerback has said the team are now interested in him as the replacement.
Dee Milliner is widely considered to be the first cornerback taken in this year’s NFL Draft, and expected not to even make it out of the top 10.
The Alabama standout possess elite talent for the position, showing incredible ball tracking skills, and the quickness to stay with a number one receiver across the field, something that the New York Jets are suddenly looking for.
After they traded away Darrelle Revis, the team are now looking for a new cover corner who can elevate their defence to a level in which they can attempt to stop Tom Brady twice a year, and Milliner could be that man.
Milliner himself believes that, as he spoke to NYdailynews.com.
“They like me,” Milliner said.
“I know they probably like me even more now since they got rid of Revis.”
A very confident Milliner would be a good fit for the Jets, who are in a very solid position to draft him at either number nine or 13, after the Buccaneers gave the Jets their first round pick as part of the trade.
The 21-year old has a bright future in the NFL, and if the Jets can use their second first round pick on a pass rusher that will aid in forcing the opposing Quarterbacks into bad throws, the young star could have a very bright start to his career.
