Ed Woodward believes he can get someone bring than Pedro to Old Trafford.
In response to the public criticism that Man United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has received over his botched deal for Pedro, the Old Trafford exec declared he has bigger plans and that the Pedro gaffe will be forgotten.
According to the Express, Woodward had a message for his supports after Chelsea managed to seal the deal for the former Barcelona winger.
“Don’t worry, we have bigger targets. The Pedro thing will eventually be forgotten,” Woodward reportedly said.
Man United certainly have an extensive list of superstars that they have in mind, namely Thomas Muller, Gareth Bale and Neymar among others. Thanks to Woodward’s strong numbers background, Man United have made numerous deals that have provided enormous cash injections, allowing the club to afford almost anyone as long as the target team is willing to sell.
However, Ed Woodward’s tenure has also been marred by failed bids for top talent such as Bale, Cesc Fabregas and Sergio Ramos and expensive flops such as Angel Di Maria.
Man United have just two goals through the first three matches; Pedro scored a goal and contributed an assist in his first 30 minutes on the pitch for Chelsea against West Bromwich Albion this past weekend.
