Delhi hoping their woes don’t continue against the most successful team in IPL history.
Its a sorry state of affairs for Delhi Daredevils in the 2013 IPL as they’ve lost all five of their games so far and today come up against the Chennai Super Kings.
Delhi lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore in a Super Over in their last outing in the Twenty20 tournament – a demoralising defeat after coming so close to their first points of the season.
Chennai meanwhile have not enjoyed the greatest of starts themselves, with a 50% win record from their opening four fixtures of the year which sees them several points off the pace.
A win against the Daredevils would of course make everything look a little rosier for the away side, but after coming so close against RCB Mahela Jayawardene’s men should have their backs up and be ready to fight.
In terms of individual performances CSK have Michael Hussey leading their batting statistics, although the Australian was dropped in their last match in favour of all-rounder Albie Morkel.
Yet a defeat to Pune Warriors India may make captain MS Dhoni rethink his decision and recall Hussey to the batting line-up.
Delhi were unlucky to lose against Bangalore and their batting order looks in better shape than it has done with the welcome return of Virender Sehwag from injury.
Both Jayawardene and David Warner have also been in solid form with the bat and the Super Kings shouldn’t be surprised if they are seriously tested by the Daredevils.
