Von Miller explains how important Dumveril was to the Broncos defence.
After Elvis Dumervil left the Denver Broncs this year due to an error with a fax machine that forced Denver to release the player, current Bronco star Von Miller has explained how important he was to the team last season.
While talking on NFL Total Access, Miller explained the importance of the now Baltimore Raven to the team, both on and off the field.
“He was our leader in the locker room. He was our rock,” Miller said on NFL Network.
“He showed me how to be a technician on the field. … He showed me so much stuff on the field, how to be a professional, how to conduct yourself off the field. He’s truly going to be missed.”
It is clear to see the impact Dumervil had on the 24-year old, who has spent his first two seasons in the league with Denver, and has become one of the most dominant outside linebackers in the league.
Having already accumulated 30 sacks in a just 32 games, the future is a very bright one for the Texas A&M icon. With the unfortunate departure of Dumervil, it will now seem likely that the defensive players will now look to Miller to become the leader of the unit, as they continue to build a Super Bowl winning franchise.
