Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball suffered a major groin injury in the Broncos’ win against the Arizona Cardinals. The Broncos were able to overcome Ball’s injury as quarterback Peyton Manning threw for 479 yards and four touchdowns against two interceptions.
Ball is expected to miss significant time with his injury, and Ronnie Hillman is expected to be the starting running back in his absence. Hillman looked solid as he rushed for 64 yards on 15 carries, averaging 4.3 yards per carry.
The Broncos are already prepared to move on without Ball for the time being since Hillman and C.J. Anderson are still around to carry the ball.
Here is a tweet from NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport releasing the news on the Broncos running back’s injury.
The #Broncos are bracing for a major groin injury to RB Montee Ball… which is bad. Ronnie Hillman looking sharp makes it not as bad
