Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball will sit out the rest of the preseason as he undergoes an appendectomy.
Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball has been expected to be the starter since Knowshon Moreno left for the Miami Dolphins.
However, the Broncos will have to move on without Ball for the remainder of the preseason. The second-year running back will go through an appendectomy after not feeling well. “He started feeling the effects, not feeling really good yesterday and then of course came in today not feeling very good, which is typical of that prognosis,” Broncos head coach John Fox said.
While Ball sits out, Ronnie Hillman will receive the majority of first-team reps since he has found his way back into the Broncos coaching staff’s good graces.
C.J. Anderson will also battle for carries, but Ball is expected to return fully healthy by the start of the regular season according to the Broncos’ official Twitter account.
