The Denver Broncos defeated the Seattle Seahawks 21-16 in a Super Bowl preseason rematch after a game-winning touchdown by backup quarterback Brock Osweiler.
The Seahawks and Broncos faced each other for the first time since the Super Bowl, and a different result occurred as the Broncos won 21-16.
Peyton Manning performed well for the Broncos, completing 10-of-13 of his passes for 78 yards. Demaryius Thomas also looked great as he caught five passes for 53 yards.
Brock Osweiler looked promising at quarterback as well, and he completed the game-winning touchdown pass while throwing for 85 yards. However, he had his rough patches as he only completed half of his passes and threw an interception.
Juwan Thompson stole the show at running back with 59 rushing yards on only six carries, and he will continue to receive carries since C.J. Anderson was knocked out with a concussion. Plus, Montee Ball will be out for the preseason after undergoing an appendectomy.
Russell Wilson looked solid for the Seahawks in limited action, but his numbers didn’t show it. He completed 4-of-6 of his throws for 37 yards while avoiding numerous sacks, except for one from DeMarcus Ware.
Terrelle Pryor was able to move the chains with 137 passing yards, but he cost the Seahawks the game with an interception at the Broncos’ 3-yard line.
Paul Richardson led the receivers with four catches and 37 yards.
