NFL giants Detroit Lions have confirmed they are in talks with former NRL star Jarryd Hayne.
The ex-Parramatta Eels man has been in search of an NFL deal since quitting the Eels late last year, and the Lions seem to be the most likely destination according to AAP.
Lions general manager Martin Mayhew did not give much away during a press conference but said the franchise was “in dialogue right now” with Hayne.
Hayne has also had meetings with the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers, but the Lions are favourites to land the Australian’s signature.
The Test representative was reportedly close to signing a deal with the Lions back in December, however, the contract could not be finalised until Hayne obtained a US work permit.
It is believed he is still yet to gain a work permit, hence the Lions have not been able to announce an official deal.
