Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley has been convicted on DUI and reckless driving charges, but he will not serve any jail time.
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley has been in trouble with the law since being drafted. THe troubled player was arrested in 2012 for a DUI and reckless driving.
During his arrest, Fairley had an open container of alcohol in his vehicle and tried to avoid the police. This was not Fairley’s first arrest though.
The former Auburn star had been arrested earlier in 2012 for possession of marijuana. However, these charges were later dismissed.
The defensive tackle was convicted of a DUI and reckless driving, but he will not have to spend time in jail. Instead, he will have to pay a $750 fine and serve a year of probation.
Despite his brushes with the law, Fairley is a talented lineman, but he is under contract with the Lions for the final year until his contract expires.
Although the 2011 first-round pick has shown the ability to make an impact as a pass rusher, but his discipline is in need of improvement on the field as well as off the field.
