The Detroit Lions will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in their next preseason match as they look to recover from a heartbreaking loss.
The Detroit Lions let their game against the Oakland Raiders slip away from their fingertips as they lost 27-26 by allowing a game-winning touchdown pass with 11 seconds left. They will look to recover on Friday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford looked excellent though as he completed 9-of-10 of his passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
Kellen Moore failed to take advantage of an opportunity to close the gap on the No. 2 job even though he was efficient. Dan Orlovsky bounced back and threw for 153 yards on 8-for-12 passing.
The running game sputtered as it finished with just 52 rushing yards, but wide receiver Golden Tate looked solid as he caught three passes for 41 yards and a touchdown.
The Jaguars also let a win slip away as they blew a 19-7 lead to the Chicago Bears, but they received promising quarterback play from Chad Henne and Blake Bortles.
Undrafted rookie wide receiver Allen Hurns led the team in receiving once again with four catches for 74 yards to make a case for a roster spot. Hurns will look to take advantage of a depleted receiving corps once again.
