Megatron has only had one winning season in a seven year career with the Lions.
Detroit Lions All-Pro receiver Calvin Johnson, aka Megatron, believes that this may be the season that the Lions finally contend for a title.
“I honestly believe that,” Johnson said, via the Detroit Free Press. “And you’ve got to buy in. You’ve got to buy into the coaches’ philosophy, and we have. I believe that everybody is doing exactly what the coaches want us to do, and if we’re not, if something is not like he wants it, he’s going to tell us and we’re going to get better at it and he only has to tell us one time.”
Since drafting Johnson No. 2 overall in the 2007 NFL draft, the Lions are 36-76 with one winning season and the infamous 0-16 season in 2008.
The Lions hired head coach Jim Caldwell this past offseason to replace the recently-fired Jim Schwartz. Caldwell took the Indianapolis Colts to the Superbowl in 2009 and won two division titles with the Colts in three seasons as head coach.
