Bryant led the NFL with 16 receiving TDs in 2014 (his third straight season with 12 TDs or more) and was named a First-Team All-Pro. The Cowboys were unable to reach the kind of long-term agreement with Bryant that would likely make him the highest paid player in NFL history.
After the season, the team was forced to place the franchise tag on Bryant that reduced their cap space to the point where they could not re-sign starting RB DeMarco Murray, who was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year. Murray eventually signed with the Cowboys’ division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Scandrick started 14 games for the Cowboys in 2014 as the team went from the NFL’s worst defense in 2013 to a top-20 defense in 2014.
