Goal machine eager to make west London move.
Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has told the club that he wants to join Chelsea this summer and hopes that they won’t stand in his way as they continue to try and lure goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois back to the Vicente Calderon, according to Inside Futbol.
Costa was in fantastic form for the club last season as they eked their way to the Spanish league title and he has since become a major transfer target for a number of top clubs from across Europe going into the Summer transfer window.
Chelsea have been in desperate need for a new striker and have apparently identified the Spanish international as the ideal man to solve their goalscoring woes.
The West London outfit are believed to have already engaged Atletico in discussions about a fee for his services, and in a boost to Jose Mourinho’s aspirations reports from Spain are suggesting that Costa has told that cub that he wants to join the Premier League club in the coming months.
On the other hand Atletico Madrid are trying to convince the Blues to extend Courtois’ stay in Madrid for one or two more years on a loan deal.
