Uruguayan striker claims compatriot is staying at Anfield.
Uruguay striker Diego Forlan has said that international strike partner Luis Suarez is “very happy” at Liverpool and has dismissed speculation linking him with a summer move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to Goal.com.
Suarez has been linked with a move to the European champions since last summer, and the rumours surrounding the move have increased following his outstanding form in the Premier League this term.
However, with the former Ajax star struggling to be fit to face both Costa Rica and England, Forlan has moved to assure Reds fans that his international colleague will not be going anywhere.
“Luis Suarez is much better,” he said with regards to Suarez’s injury concerns.
“He is taking steps to recover well and hopefully he recovers well and will be ready to play.
“Suarez is very happy at Liverpool. All you hear are rumours for now. If at any time he signs for Real Madrid, I will talk about it then.”
Suarez has been tipped to sit out of Uruguay’s clash with Costa Rica on Saturday evening in order to give him a fighting chance at being available to take on England later next week.
