Liverpool have been busy in the waning days of the transfer period and are poised to add a stellar playmaker to their undefeated ranks after having a bid for Henrikh Mkhitaryan accepted.
According to Squawka, Borussia Dortmund have accepted Liverpool’s £15 million bid for the 26-year-old winger who also doubles as an attacking midfielder.
Mkhitaryan is coming off a two-goal performance in Dortmund’s opener against Borussia Mönchengladbach, and had the game-winning goal against Odds BK in the first leg of the Europa League playoffs
Henrikh Mkhitaryan signed with Dortmund on a £23.6 million deal in July 2013 after a stellar career with Shaktar Donetsk that included a 25 goal season the year before. Since joining Dortmund, Mkhitaryan has 14 goals in 60 league appearances.
Liverpool’s liberal spending this past summer has paid immediate dividends for the Anfield outfit with £32.5 million-man Christian Benteke scoring a game-winning goal against Bournemouth to start the season off with two straight wins and six points on the table.
