Stoke City have completed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel on a season-long loan.
The deal was announced on Stoke’s official club website late on Friday afternoon.
Although Stoke’s statement said nothing about Amsir Begovic, it is expected that the goalkeeper, who has also been linked with Manchester United, will move to Chelsea on a permanent basis in the very near future.
Stoke and Chelsea have been in talks for many days and it is understood that the Blues allowed the 22-year-old to move to the Britannia Stadium in order to sweeten the Potters up, so that Begovic would be allowed to move south.

He has played just two Premier League games since joining Chelsea in an £8m deal two years ago.
