While it was known earlier this week that Arsenal‘s Wojciech Szczesny would be joining AS Roma after posing with the club scarf, the move has now been confirmed by both clubs.
David Ospina is set to remain at the Emirates for the 2015-16 campaign; however, Arsene Wenger has opted to grant Szczesny a season-long loan.

Szczesny and Ospina battled for the No.1 spot last season, yet their contest looks to have been put to bed by the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea last month – who is expected to become first-choice in between the posts.
A statement on Arsenal’s official website read:
‘The Poland international joins AS Roma for the opportunity of regular first-team football this term.
‘Everyone at Arsenal would like to wish Wojciech well for his time in Italy.’
