Arsenal transfer rumours
Sources in Spain suggest the long-serving Real captain is set to be replaced in the summer, bringing an end to his long and glorious career with the Bernabeu club.
Arsenal certainly look like they could do with a signing of Casillas’ quality between the sticks, with neither Wojciech Szczesny nor David Ospina looking entirely convincing as the long-term number one for the Gunners.
Casillas’ age means he is not exactly a long-term option either, though he could make a fine stop-gap for Arsene Wenger before trying again with the younger pairing of Szczesny and Ospina.
It seems increasingly likely that Casillas’ replacement in Madrid will be Manchester United star David de Gea, who has arguably been the best goalkeeper in Europe this season after a string of fantastic displays at Old Trafford.
