Chelsea have announced that young defender Todd Kane has joined NEC Nijmegen on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old signed a new three-year contract at Stamford Bridge earlier this week, but Jose Mourinho seemingly feels that his immediate development will be better served out on loan.

The Blues have already loaned five other players to the Netherlands for this season.
Izzy Brown, Danilo Pantic, Nathan, Lewis Baker and Dominic Solanke have all joined Chelsea’s feeder team Vitesse Arnhem for 2015-16, but Kane will play for their Eredivisie rivals.
The full-back has been with Chelsea since the Under-8 age group, although he is yet to make a senior appearance for the club in competitive action.
Kane spent the second half of last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, making nine appearances in the Championship, and has also had spells at Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City.
