Having spent the last two seasons on loan at Liverpool and Stoke, he will hope that a move to Upton Park gives him the boost that his career needs at this stage, although it remains to be seen whether or not it earns him the trust of Mourinho moving forward.
It would seem as though his long-term future does lie with the club given that he signed a new four-year deal at Stamford Bridge before completing his loan move.
Nevertheless, the Hammers will be hopeful that he can make an impact under Slaven Bilic, as they continue to search for consistency after some wild results so far this season.
Despite disappointing results against Bournemouth and Leicester, West Ham have defeated both Arsenal and Liverpool away from home and will look to pick up and build on that momentum after the international break.
As for Chelsea, having signed Pedro from Barcelona last month, they have deemed Moses surplus to requirements this year and his departure follows that of Juan Cuadrado who joined Juventus last week.
