Chelsea have announced that centre-back Tomas Kalas has signed a new three-year contract.
The 22-year-old has been loaned out to Championship promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough for the 2015-16 campaign, but Jose Mourinho still seemingly sees his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.

Kalas, a one-cap Czech Republic international, joined Chelsea from hometown club Sigma Olomouc in January 2011 and has since made four appearances for the senior side.
He gained first-team experience in successive loan spells at Dutch feeder club Vitesse Arnhem between 2011 and 2013, and more recently impressed in stints at Cologne and Boro.
Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to recruit a new defender this summer and has insisted that the Blues will continue their pursuit of John Stones despite Everton’s firm resistance.
The Premier League champions, who were humiliated 4-2 by New York Red Bulls in a pre-season game this morning, have John Terry, Gary Cahill, Kurt Zouma and Branislav Ivanovic as centre-back options.
