Chelsea have signed teenage midfielder Danilo Pantic, but they will be sending him to Vitesse Arnhem on loan for the upcoming season.
According to Sky Sports, Pantic has penned a four-year deal with the Blues after arriving from Partizan Belgrade.
He will immediately join Chelsea’s Dutch feeder club.
The 18-year-old midfielder spoke on the upcoming phase in his career.
“I am very happy to sign for Chelsea, the champions of the English Premier League, and I hope I can show my value at Vitesse in the coming season,” he said. “I am honoured at the faith both clubs have shown me.
Chelsea are hoping for Pantic to gain more experience outside of the Premier League before he is ready to join the Blues first team.
In his limited playing time with Partizan, Pantic scored two goals.
Pantic has already gained experience from playing with the Serbia Under-17 and Under-19 squads.
Most recently, he led his country to the semi-finals in last year’s Europe Under-19 Championship.
