The Ivory Coast international has been linked with the Toffees for some time, but there were doubts over whether Monaco would allow the forward to leave after £50m signing Radamel Falcao suffered a cruciate ligament injury midweek.
Yet in the end Roberto Martinez landed his man and Traore will be eligible to play for the side in the Premier League next week after being granted a visa.
The 23-year-old will provide some much needed support for fellow loanee on Merseyside Romelu Lukaku, who is the only available striker after the sale of Nikica Jelavic to Hull City and a long-term injury to Arouna Kone.
Traore is a 6’8″ powerful attacker who moved to the Principality from Anzhi Makhachkala on January 4, but is yet to play a game for the Ligue 1 outfit.
The Ivorian was first noticed in European football with Romanian side CFR Cluj where the then teenager earned experience in the Champions League.
Traore then moved onto Kuban Krasnodor and then fellow Russian side Anzhi, where the youngster played alongside Chelsea duo Samuel Eto’o and Willian.
