Geelong has signed former Melbourne speedster Sam Blease as a delisted free agent.
The 23-year-old midfielder was selected with pick 17 in the 2008 national draft and played 33 games in five seasons with the Demons.
Cats football manager Neil Balme said Blease was a “welcome addition” to the club’s midfield.
“We see Sam as a player who can bring pace as well as a great ability in front of goal,” Balme said.
“We hope Sam can find more consistency in his game and become a regular face in our side next year.”
Blease showed good form in the VFL in 2014, but was unable to break into the Demons senior side.
He kicked 25 goals in his time at the club.
Blease will join the Cats next month at Simonds Stadium for the beginning of pre-season training later this month.
