Liverpool have confirmed the departure of Mario Balotelli on a season-long loan to AC Milan.
The striker was in Italy yesterday to undergo a medical and finalise terms – he is believed to have taken a pay cut to secure the move – and has now sealed his return to Serie A.

He rejoins Milan 12 months after leaving for Anfield for £16m. He managed only one Premier League goal last season and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers quickly shafted him from the first team.
Balotelli was not involved in Liverpool’s pre-season as he looked for a new club, with the Merseysiders bringing in Danny Ings, Christian Benteke and Divock Origi to bolster their strike force.
The 25-year-old enjoyed arguably the best form of his career during his first spell at Milan, scoring 28 goals in 51 games, and the Rossoneri have welcomed him back for the 2015-16 campaign.

But the San Siro giants seemingly still have their reservations. They have no obligation to buy Balotelli permanently and have reportedly inserted a ‘good behaviour clause’ in his contract.
