The deal is subject to a medical taking place at the end of the 2015 Copa America tournament, however the transfer is expected to be a mere formality.
Liverpool announced the deal on its website, saying Firmino had agreed to a “long-term contract with the club”.
Firmino is reported to have signed a five-year deal with the Premier League giants after Reds chief executive Ian Ayre flew to Chile to finalise the deal.
The former Figueirense man has scored 35 goals in 145 Bundesliga appearances since joining Hoffenheim in 2011.
He primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but is equally adept out wide or up front.
Firmino’s versatility resulted in interest from a number of clubs – including Manchester United – but the Brazil international is now all but certain to appear in Liverpool colours next season.
