Liverpool have confirmed on Twitter that they have sold Raheem Sterling to Premier League rivals Manchester City.
After having two bids rejected, City were finally successful with their third offer for the 20-year-old – believed to be worth £49m.

City also confirmed the deal using social media.
The club’s Vine account shared the video below to reveal that Sterling will wear City’s number 7 shirt next season, replacing James Milner, who moved in the other direction to join Liverpool earlier this summer.
Other players to wear Man City’s number 7 in fairly recent years include David Rocastle, Georgiou Kinkladze, Spencer Prior, Darren Huckerby and Stephen Ireland.
