Man United star stopper David de Gea will finally get his wish and move to Real Madrid after the two clubs reached an agreement on a transfer.
According to the Metro, a deal has been made between Man United and Real Madrid for a £28.6 million transfer to Bernabeu. In addition, de Gea reportedly has a six-year, £21.3 million contract waiting for him when he gets there – a deal de Gea is believed to have already accepted.
A two-time winner of the Man United Players’ Player of the Year award, the 24-year-old Spanish stopper joined Man United after spending his early senior years with Atletico Madrid. Last season De Gea was the only member of the Red Devils to make the Premier League PFA Team of the Year, recording 10 clean sheets as Man United finished fourth on the Premier League table.
De Gea is also considered the heir apparent to Iker Casillas’s position as Spain’s No. 1 goalkeeper for the international team.
